Dear Friends,

April comes with a new promise every year and a new Team every two years.

Thanks for the overwhelming trust shown by all of you in the New Team; that makes our commitment even stronger.

"Commitment is what transforms a promise into reality”

This is what the Mantra of the new Team is going to be. Commitment to pursue for excellence in academics to commitment in making all our members empowered enough to have a Safe Practice. With the practice of medicine being seen in bad light by all sections of society, we have to first make our medical practice ethically sound and medico legally safe.  For this, following the evidence based practice is a must, and for the latter updating oneself with the advances in our fields of specialization is mandatory. Our endeavor will be to bring to your doorstep, all relevant recent advances as often as we can.

Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.

Changing the mindset is the need of the hour, if we want to change the outlook of the Society towards practice of medicine.  This is a mammoth task which cannot be accomplished without staying connected with each other. Our connectivity with each other nourishes more exchange of ideas and more opinions are expressed, which would have been ignored otherwise. Connectivity is the Voice of Society, in today’s world.

So friends, lets come forward together and march toward a better Society which respects a doctor and understands the worth of medical practice.

"Medical profession is probably facing its worst times. Faith & trust which our profession once commanded is at its lowest. Our profession is facing tremendous pressure with regards to implementation of the Bombay Nursing Home Act, PCPNDT Act, MTP Act . The Clinical Establishment Act, ART Bill when passed would further add to our woes . Awards for compensation in cases of medical negligence are scaling new heights, Incidences of violence against doctors are increasing by the day.

To face such challenges we not only need to constantly upgrade our knowledge about latest advances in our field , laws which govern us but also need to fight for our rights. To fight against laws which are being implemented without the focus on its objective, fight against provisions of law which are unduly harsh against our profession.

We can only face such challenges if we stay united. “ United we stand, Divided we fall”. Together we need to stand for ourselves and for our colleagues..."
